Situated in the Old Village part of Shanklin, this newly renovated cottage has a patio garden and a balcony is located on the former site of the Upper Chine School for Girls. Today this charming holiday home makes an ideal base to explore the island

The golden sandy beaches stretch for miles and the Esplanade is packed full of amusements and crazy golf as well as several places to eat. Away from the beach the main town hosts a multitude of shops, cafe, bars and restaurants to enjoy. The Old Village is world famous with its pretty thatched cottages, cosy tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and craft shops to discover.

Shanklin Chine is also worth exploring; carved mother nature’s own hands over thousands of years. The stunning tree lined gorge cuts its mark from the Old Village down to the sandy beach and esplanade below. In the evening the waterfalls and woodland are illuminated, giving the gardens a totally different aspect and atmosphere.

Four people plus cot

With two double bedrooms (one with twin beds and one with a Kingsize bed) and a travel cot, there’s room for the entire family.

 

Weekly Cost

From £849.00 per week, including Southampton to Cowes car ferry crossing for up to five passengers.

Available for weekly bookings year round. Changeover day is Sunday. Short breaks (min 3 nights) are available out of season

Location

Shanklin Old Village

Shanklin Old Village is a small part of Shanklin Town, it contains some of the oldest dwellings on the Island of which the majority are thatched. It is on a slightly lower level than the town of Shanklin and is famous for its gift shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.

Located in the old village of Shanklin within easy reach of the beach, town, shops, pubs and restaurants, not forgetting the stunning Shanklin Chine.

Accommodation

This newly upgraded traditional stone cottage with exposed beams has a fully equipped kitchen including a microwave and washing machine. It has full gas central heating that makes it suitable for year-round holidays. The lounge diner has a feature fireplace with electric log burner and patio doors which take you to the garden with its table and chairs.

Upstairs has two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower (no bath). The double bedroom is located at the rear of the cottage and has a Hypnos king size bed. This room has patio doors leading on to a furnished balcony overlooking the top part of Shanklin Chine. The twin bedroom is situated to the front of the property and enjoys views over Big Meade Park opposite.  The twin beds can be moved together if required.

Free Parking – There is one allocated car parking space for the cottage and extra parking in an overflow car park.
